Best Guest Service Award at the 2006 PA Campground Owners Convention was awarded to Brookdale Family Campground!Grantville, PA Nov. 10, 2006 — Brookdale Family Campground located in NWPA, was presented the award for Best Guest Service in Pennsylvania for 2006 at the 43rd Annual PCOA Convention and Trade Show. The convention and trade show, held in Grantville, PA Nov. 9th -12th, provides member campgrounds the opportunity to meet with suppliers, attend training and educational sessions, obtain and maintain credits for licenses necessary to run a campground in Pennsylvania, fellowship, and to compete against other PA campgrounds in the categories of service, events and activities, clothing items, web site design, best brochure and community service. Tim Chilson, owner and operator of Brookdale Family Campground, assisted a camping guest in need. The guest had just purchased a new motor home and had driven it to NW PA while on vacation. The camper became ill and was unable to safely drive the rig back home. Tim Chilson assisted the guest in getting their rig back home by agreeing to make the more than 1200 mile journey to St. Petersburg Florida for them. Brookdale Family Campground is located East of Meadville on Rt. 27. Over the last seven years the park has won multiple honors and awards from the State Campground Association among others. It was the 2003 & 2005 Best Campground Event Winner with a Wet and Wacky Weekend Event, and a Civil War Re-enactment, and took Second Place in Best Event for 2004 with a Murder Mystery Event. It has also placed in the top three of competitions for best photo, best souvenir, and best hat. Brookdale was chosen as Best Campground in Crawford County in 2006 by the Meadville Tribune Reader’s Choice Awards, and is rated in the top 5% of campgrounds nationally.
